AWARENESS

Every product is designed and made right in Bozeman, MT. And all by just me!

I take pride in finding quality materials sourced from US based manufacturers and companies whenever possible.

  • Cotton fabric is a brushed cotton that is sourced from a company in the midwest.

  • Waxed canvas is sourced from a family owned business that has been around since the 1800’s.

  • Wool fabric is sourced from Pendleton®.

  • English Bridle leather is sourced from Wickett & Craig in Pennsylvania.

QUALITY

Waxed canvas, wool and leather are chosen for their durability.

These materials are made to last, decreasing the need for overconsumption of goods.

Pendleton® has been around since 1863. Now that’s some serious history!

CONNECTION

The foundation for Western Bound began in Portland, Oregon, where I took sewing and design classes. At the time, I was working as a counselor and pursued these classes as a hobby to learn how to make my own clothes.

After a decade living in Portland, I moved back to my roots in Montana. It was here that the concept for Western Bound began. With no job, and some spare time on my hands, I started applying the skills I had learned to bag making. I opened up an Etsy Shop in 2013, and slowly worked at it behind the scenes. I continued to work as a counselor until 2018, when I chose to pursue Western Bound full-time.

The bags you see today are inspired by my experiences living in the West, particularly in Portland and Montana. My choice to use Pendleton® Wool is greatly influenced by my time in Oregon but also by the western feel so deeply ingrained in my home state of Montana. I believe that my products are a mix of the city and the mountains. Both of which have inspired my life and my work. My desire is to create work that not only lasts but also feels special when you use it.

I hope to provide a connection between the product, maker, and consumer. If you have any questions about my work, please feel free to reach out. I love hearing from my customers and hope to make your experience a positive one.
